Prayers, when you do not know what to say or how to say it

PRAYERS

Often we do not know how to say in prayer what we mean. Sometimes we do not know what to say. It is the Holy Spirit who helps us pray, and it is our prayer that as you pray the prayer you need, the Holy Spirit will make it real to you.

"The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers"
( I Pet. 3:12 )

Prayer to Receive Jesus as Lord & Savior

Jesus, I come to you as a sinner, needing your forgiveness. I thank you that you carried all my sins and that you took them to the cross for me. I thank you that you died in my place and for me. I praise you that you rose again from the dead and that you are now seated at the right hand of the Father, praying for me. I receive you as my Savior and I confess you as my Lord. Thank you for cleansing and forgiving me all my sin.

The Scriptures make it clear that "...if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Prayer for Forgiveness

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out all my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions and my sin is always before me. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Be merciful to me, a sinner.

Thank you for forgiving me Lord, in Jesus Name.

Prayer for Healing

Lord, I am yours. You are my God. I need your healing touch in my body. When Jesus walked this earth no one who came to Him in faith was refused. I come to You now, knowing that You are my Hope. I trust in You. Heal me O Lord. Restore my physical condition that I may praise You. I pray this in Jesus' Name, and I thank You that You have heard me.

The Scriptures also make it clear that a person who is ill should call the elders of the Church and have the elders anoint them with oil and pray over them:

"Is there any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up...." James 5:14-15

It is our suggestion if you are ill, that in addition to praying the prayer listed above, you call for the elders of the Church in your community and have them anoint you and pray over you.

Many times people are bound by habits, or addictions and not only need to have a chemical dependency broken, but a mental and a spiritual one broken also. If you are bound by alcohol, drugs, sexual perversion, gambling or other addictions that control you, after you pray this prayer please call someone in your area to help you. Jesus said of some problems. "....this kind cometh not out but by prayer and fasting..." indicating there are more than one "kind" of problem, and more than one way of dealing with it. This prayer is your First Step toward Freedom. Take it in Jesus' Name!

Prayer for Deliverance

Father God I come to you in Jesus Name. I am a sinner and I need your help. I am weak Lord. I cannot control my life. You are my only Hope. I need your power to come on me and into me right now. Set me free Lord. I confess to You that I am controlled by ........(Fill in the area with whatever is controlling you)....and the only way I will be free is if You set me free.

Jesus came to save sinners, of which I am one. He also said that if "the Son set you free, you are free indeed." I need Your freedom! Help me Lord.

I ask You to forgive me for giving my life to satan. Forgive me for granting demons access to my life. I ask You to deliver me from the power of satan. I renounce all contact with him, and claim my life back from every demon that has controlled me. In Jesus Name and by His precious blood I claim freedom. I declare on the basis of God's Word that You Lord have heard my confession, You have forgiven my sins, and You have driven every evil spirit out of my life.

Help me now to walk in the freedom You have provided. Cover me with your protection. Keep me from the evil one. In Jesus' Name I pray.
