Iris Ministries -A short PowerPoint of some highlights

The Mission has been completed and we are now home. We arrived home on July 15th .. tired but very excited about what has been done. We will be posting photos and stories as we are able.

Thank You! to everyone who helped make the Mission to Mozambique possible. The trip was more than we hoped for.

We went to learn and to be a help to the people there who are “on the ground”. We were successful in those areas, thanks to you and with the help of the good Lord.

We were able to take with us several hundred pounds of medical and dental supplies as well as other items that were needed. And we were able to do a number of projects. Our team:

Taught English classes
Constructed a watering trough
Built a fence
Fixed a well that was not working
Fixed the water system for the Visitors Compound
Repaired a leaking sink
Fixed a shower
Helped in the sewing room (where Mozambican widows are taught sewing skills)
Painted some of the boys dormitories
Worked in the “baby house”
Helped in an organized “Sports Day”
Participated in a village outreach
Helped in village feedings
Helped take the kids in the orphanage to the beach
Set up beds for an upcoming Mozambican Ministers Convention
Cleaned various areas including picking up trash on the Base
Worked on some of the orphanages vehicles

We learned a lot about Mozambique and the needs there. We also saw a lot of the possibilities that are in that nation. And we saw a lot of the problems. Whatever a person does is a challenge. But the opportunities are enormous.
