Matt 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had
told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." NIV
Note, this is a command of the risen Lord -- · “go
ye”. So first of all, Believers should pray about "staying"
rather than praying whether they should "go" or not.
The command to go “into all the world” means not
just all countries, but into every part of society (into every person’s
world). There are many "worlds" we are to go into.
Unfortunately many Christians think those "worlds" are supposed to
come to them, and so they wait in buildings, wanting someone to come. But
the truth is, we are supposed to go to them!
But some will say that it is the job of the
- Evangelist
- Pastor
- Elders
- Spiritual people
No .. sorry … it’s the job of BELIEVERS - Mark
16:15- 20
He said to them, "Go into all the world and
preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized
will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these
signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will
drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes
with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them
at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get
well." After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into
heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out
and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his
word by the signs that accompanied it. NIV
You just cannot say "It's not my
calling" ....
Prov. 24:11-12
Rescue the perishing;
don't hesitate to step in and help.
If you say, "Hey, that's none of my business,"
will that get you off the hook?
Someone is watching you closely, you know—
Someone not impressed with weak excuses.
The Message
It does take vision:
ISA. 6:1-8
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Master sitting on a
throne—high, exalted!—and the train of his robes filled the Temple.
Angel-seraphs hovered above him, each with six wings. With two wings they
covered their faces, with two their feet, and with two they flew. And they
called back and forth one to the other,
Holy, Holy, Holy is God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
His bright glory fills the whole earth.
The foundations trembled at the sound of the angel voices,
and then the whole house filled with smoke. I said,
"Doom! It's Doomsday!
I'm as good as dead!
Every word I've ever spoken is tainted—
blasphemous even!
And the people I live with talk the same way,
using words that corrupt and desecrate.
And here I've looked God in the face!
The King! God-of-the-Angel-Armies!"
Then one of the angel-seraphs flew to me. He
held a live coal that he had taken with tongs from
the altar. He touched my mouth with the coal and said,
"Look. This coal has touched your lips.
Gone your guilt,
your sins wiped out."
And then I heard the voice of the Master:
"Whom shall I send?
Who will go for us?"
I spoke up,
"I'll go.
Send me!"
The Message
The result of seeing the Lord was the cry,
" Pick Me! Choose me! I’ll go, send me!" If we don't have that
cry in our hearts, could it be we need a fresh vision?
Dare we pray the prayer?
Father God .. I want to see as you
see.
I want to feel as you feel.
I want to carry your passion for this world.
Make my love deeper.
Make my heart stronger.
I will go for you - SEND ME!
I understand that not everyone can physically
go to other Nations, but we can be a part of those who do go. And ALL OF
US can go into someone else's world in some way.
I believe if you honestly pray that prayer
that you will see open doors, opportunities and ways and means to "go"
that you did not see before. As you obey the Holy Spirit's prompting you will be
amazed at what the Lord will do.
